How to upload pictures to a Samsung Frame TV

You do not need an Art Store subscription to show your own photos. The Frame can import them through the SmartThings app or from a USB drive.

Upload photos with SmartThings

  1. Open SmartThings and select your Frame TV from the Devices tab.
  2. Open Art Mode and choose Add Your Photos.
  3. Select the images from your phone, then choose Save on The Frame.
  4. Select a saved image to display it, or use the available slideshow options.

Upload photos from a USB drive

  1. Connect a USB drive containing your photos to the One Connect Box.
  2. Put The Frame into Art Mode and open My Collection.
  3. Select the USB drive, then select Save.
  4. Choose the images and select Save Selected to import them.

Show local photos with PictaCast

If you prefer a local slideshow from a computer instead of importing photos to The Frame, connect a Chromecast to an HDMI port.

Plug in a Chromecast dongle

Connect a Chromecast or Chromecast with Google TV to one of The Frame's HDMI ports. Switch to that input.

Open PictaCast in your browser

Go to app.pictacast.com on your laptop or desktop. No app install needed.

Cast your photos

Select your local photo folder, click Cast, and your personal photos appear on The Frame instantly.

Built-in Art Mode or a local PictaCast slideshow?

The Frame can show your photos natively in Art Mode. PictaCast is a separate option when you want a computer-controlled slideshow without importing the files to the TV.
